This swordsmith, Bungo no Kami Fujiwara Masamitsu. He was active during the early Edo Period in Owari Province. He was born in Mino Province and his work can be found from 1657 to 1676. This Wakizashi is wider than average, giving a robust impression. The Kitae is Itame with Jinie. The Hamon is Choji-midare with Suguyakisashi as well as Tobiyaki. There is only one flaw in the mid hiraji of the Omote side, but overall this blade is impressive. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token Shinsa in 2023. |
