This Wakizashi was forged in 1498 by Tadamitsu from Osafune, Bizen Province. There are several Tadamitsu in the lineage from the late Kamakura to the late Muromachi Period. He was one of the swordsmith representatives of the Sengoku Jidai Period in Bizen Province, so called "Sue Bizen." This Wakizashi has the features of the Sue Bizen. It comes with a Wakizashi style Koshirae with a black lacquer Saya. It passed the Hozon Token in 1999. |
