The theme of this Kozuka is a Lesser Cuckoo and the Crescent Moon. A lesser Cuckoo is a summer bird. The image portrayed in this design seems like it is early in the morning and the cuckoo is flight fast. So when you hear the cuckoo in the sky overhead it is so fast that when you look up you can only see the moon. You can associate this idea with the theme of this Tsuba. |
