The theme of this Kozuka is Rooster with family. The craftsman, Goto Mitsuyoshi, was the 15th Soke of the Goto Tradition. He was born in 1780 in Edo as the first son of Mitsumori, the 14th Soke. He took over as the 15th Soke in 1804 at the age of 24. He also took over the name of Shirobei as well. He passed away in 1843 at the age of 64. His posthumous name is Shinjo. The impressive design is very vibrant and skillfully crafted engraved with the craftsman name. It is in a good condition and has passed the Tokubestu Hozon Tosogu in 2014.
