Other Info
The theme of this Fuchikashira is Shishi, Sacred Lion. The craftsman, Kikuchi Tsunemasa, was the founder of the Kikuchi Tradition. He was a disciple of Inagawa Naokatsu, who was a high-ranked disciple of Yanagawa Naomasa. Tsunemasa mastered his skills from the Yokoya and Yanagawa Traditions. He became very skilled at the Takabori Zogan Iroe and Katakiri-bori Techniques. He was active during the Mid Edo Period in Edo. This set of Fuchikashira has elaborately crafted Yokoya style Shishi on the Shakudo Nanako pattern surface. It has a dignified style.
