Other Info
Yanagawa Naomitsu was the third generation Master of the Yanagawa Tradition. He was born as the son of a craftsman (Shiroganeshi) who made Habaki. When Yanagawa Naomitsu was 18 he became a student of Yanagawa Naomasa and then was adopted by him. Following Noamasa's death, Yanagawa Naomitsu took over as the master of the tradition at age 25. Naomitsu trained the grandson of Naomasa, Naoharu, who became the fourth generation Master craftsman. Naomitsu also trained Kikuoka Mitsuyuki who became a famous craftsman and founded the Kikuoka Tradition. The design of the gold lobster and clams are very intricate and detailed. The backside is gold and brings the entire piece to life. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu in 2020.
