Nagatsuna was a student of the first generation Omi no Kami Tadatsuna and is regarded as a highly skilled Osaka Shinto swordsmith. He was deaf, and some of his works are signed “Tsunbo Nagatsuna” (literally “deaf Nagatsuna”), by which name he is also known.This blade measures 1 shaku 7 sun 2 bu, with a wide mihaba and thick kasane, giving it a robust and powerful appearance. The jihada is a well-packed ko-itame with thick ji-nie and chikei. The hamon, in the style of his teacher, shows a gunome-choji midare with a straight yakidashi. Long, well-aligned ashi are clearly visible, together with long nie-suji, and the nioiguchi is bright with ko-nie.It is accompanied by a refined wakizashi koshirae with a dark brown lacquered saya fitted with an iron kuwagata-gata kojiri.This blade passed NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Token shinsa in 2010.
