| Shimousa no Kuniyoshi [下総守国義] was originally from Hyuga province. He moved to Osaka and became a disciple of Izumi no Kami Kunisada [和泉守国貞] 1st, so called Oya-kunisada [親国貞]. He later moved to Hamada, Iwami Province. His swords inscribed the year from 1650-1667 (Keian 3) to 1667 (Kanbun 7) have remained. He left behind swords similar to his teacher, Oya-Kunisada's. This wakizashi has a sayagaki by Kanzan-sensei. A rare, excellent example of Shimousa no Kuniyoshi. It passed the Hozon Token shinsa in 2009. |
