Enju Nobutsugu was born in 1948 in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture. His real name was Tanigawa Hiromitsu and was an elder son of Tanigawa Moriyoshi, a Mukansa swordsmith from whom he also studied. Enju Nobutsugu received special awards such as Kanzan and Kunzan awards. He was expecting to be a great swordsmith, but he passed away in 1998 at the age of 50. This beautiful Wakizashi was forged when he was 38 years old. It must have been made with the master swordsmith Kiyomaro in mind, a work full of energy and enthusiasm. |
