This swordsmith, Nakamayama Ikkansai Yoshihiro, was born in 1797 in Suruga Province. He studied his forging skills from Kawatani Noritoshi in Mito Clan, Hitachi Province. He especially studied Kitae pattern, such as Matsukawa-hada, by Norishige. That skill is referred to as Hadamono-gitae. He taught this skill to Fujieda Teruyoshi, Enryushi Kunihide, and Miyaguchi Shigetoshi, and so on. Later he became an official worker of the Maebashi Clan. This Wakizashi features his typicial Hadamono-gitae work and has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token in 2023. |
