| Hitotsuyanagi Tomoyoshi [一柳友善] lineage excelled in carving dragons, establishing a major style of Mito-bori based on the Hamano style. The lineage continued from the first generation (1716-1789) to the seventh generation (1846-1922). Judging form the mei, this tsuba is believed to be the work of the fifth generation (died 1858). A typical tsuba featuring a dragon openwork by Hitotsuyanagi Tomoyoshi. It passed the Hozon Tosogu shinsa in 2012. |
