| Horses have been an important animal since ancient times, deeply involved with humans in warfare, farming, transportation, travel, and festivals. Many horses are depicted on sword fittings. This tsuba depicts horses galloping through a field with openwork technique. It is considered to be of the Shoami tradition in the late Edo period. |
