Fukurokuju is also called Jurohjin and is one of the seven Gods of luck. It is short with long head with a beard, it is holding a jeweled ball in one hand and a scroll in the other. Fukurokuju represents lucky or fortune, money and longevity in Taoist. Judging from the carving technique and the design, NBTHK attributed this tsuba to the Iwama school. It has passed the Hozon shinsa in 2016. |
