Amime, Mesh Pattern is a lucky design because the links are joined together and do not come apart. Also this acted as a net and a fisherman could catch many fish with one cast. It is associated with luck and victory because it can gather many things with one cast. This Tsuba depicts the Amime pattern using Zogan technique with brass inlay on the iron surface and Sukinokoshi type rim. It is Mumei but has been attributed to the Shonai Tradition. It has passed the Hozon Shinsa in 2023. |
