The theme of this Tsuba is the Legend of Lin Hejing. He was a Chinese poet during the Song Dynasty. He lived by the West Lake in Hangzhou for much of the later part of his life. He loved plums and used plums and plum trees in his poem. People to this day still remember his work. This craftsman, Yasuchika, late generation, were Mito craftsman. This Tsuba shows the features of the Mito Tradition. It has passed the Hozon Tosogu. |
