This sword is a Sukesada[祐定] with a two-character inscription that has been judged to be made in "Shinshinto[新々刀]" period. There are four or five families who took the name Sukesada during the Shinshinto period, and they have inherited the name Sukesada for generations. This sword is likely a Sukesada of the Yokoyama family, as it has a gunome-hamon pattern with a sugu-yakidashi and sugu-boshi. It is well made with neat construction. It comes with a repaired chisa-katana style mounting. It has passed Hozon Token shinsa in 2021. |
