Horsemanship and Japanese archery were indispensable to the warriors of the Sengoku period, and horse equipment is often used as a subject of sword fittings. This work is a kizunagawa. Kizunagawa is a horse-riding harness used to tether the horse to a post or the like. This pair of menuki has a three-dimensional feel, with skillful gold and silver color painting.
