Swallows build nests under the eaves of houses from spring to summer and raise their chicks there. After raising is over, they spend the day catching insects in rice fields or near rivers, and at night they gather in reed thickets by rivers and lakes to spend the night. The metal craftsman, Kikoutei Masayasu[喜藁亭政保], may have been the same person as Ikkoken Masayasu[一藁軒政保]. He was active in late Edo period. An intricate and sturdy kozuka depicting a swallow resting on a reed. It has passed the Hozon shinsa in 2024. |
