| Since Maeda Toshiie entered Kaga Province as the lord of Hyakuman, One million-koku, he has formed a cultural area centered around Kanazawa, and boasted prosperity next to Kyoto and Edo. Metalworkers were invited from Kyoto and Fushimi, including the Goto family, and Kaga metalworkers produced elegant and luxurious works using an abundance of gold and silver to create delicate designs of flowers, birds, insects, and family crests with flat inlay.This kozuka has a pair of Goto featured lions which is a bit different from the features of Goto soke due to the body markings. It is in good condition that gives a solemn impression. It has been attributed to the Kaga-kinko Tradition and passed the Hozon Shinsa in 2018. |
