Other Info
The theme of this Kozuka is A Letter Box. Originally, it was Mumei, but Ranjo Mitsuyasu appraised this work was crafted by Etsujo. Etsujo was a second son of Teijo, the 9th generation of the Goto Soke. He was born in 1642 in Kyoto. Ranjo was the adopted son of Etsujo. He was born in 1676. Both Etsujo and Ranjo went to Kaga to support the Kaga Maeda Clan to develop the Kaga Tradition. This Kozuka shows the features of the Goto craftsmanship with Shakudo made nanako pattern. On the backside, it splits in the Waritsugi with Shibuichi and silver. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu in 2023.
