| The theme of this Kozuka is Monkey and Crab. The Hirotoshi with Kao, is slightly different than the usual Mei of Uchikoshi Hirotoshi. It seems this was crafted during his later work when he moved to Edo from Mito. Or possibly, it was his early days when he was studying in Edo. We can further study the Mei in more detail, but it has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu and has outstanding craftsmanship. |
