The theme of this Kogai is Long-handled Sake-server. It is ornamented with auspicious symbols such as Sochikubai; pine tree, bamboo, and plum tree and Tsurukame, Crane and Turtle, are symbols of longevity. This was normally used at a shrine ceremony for celebration. This Kogai was made by using the Sogitsuge technique; combined with gold and shakudo. A very stunning design and is in good condition. |
