Among the Osafune swordsmiths from the mid-Muromachi period onwards who produced what are known as Suebizen swords, Sukesada[祐定] is arguably the most well-known. There are over 60 Sukesada swordsmiths with the same signature, but Yosozaemon-no-jo[与三左衛門尉], especially the first one who lived around the Eisho and Daiei eras, is the most famous and has excellent skills. Saijo-saku[最上作] and Owazamono[大業物] swordsmith. This sword was made in the 5th year of Daiei by the first Yosozaemon-no-jo Sukesada, who was 59 years old. An excellent sword with a varied hamon pattern. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon shinsa in 2024. |
