This blade has been attributed to the Senjuin tradition. The Senjuin tradition was active near the Senju Valley in Nara Prefecture. This sword was forged for the Monk Warriors. The features of Senjuin are those made in the Kamakura Era. This tradition has features of Yamatoden but did not belong to the other four major traditions (such as Taima, Tegai, Hosho and Shikkake). This blade was forged in the Kamakura Era and is a precise piece of the old traditions. This blade has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token Shinsa in 2019. |
