The traditional subject of Mountain Senary (roofed building and landscape) is said to represent an ideal world where people live free from the confines of the secular world and enjoy the arts. The metal craftsman, Takase Eizui[高瀬栄随], is the son of Takase Eiju[高瀬栄寿], who was born in Mito and studied under Taizan Genfu[泰山元孚] before moving to Edo. This Fuchi-kashira is high koshi length and impressive Mito-style Mountain Senary fuchi-kashira. It has passed the Hozon shinsa in August 2024. |
