Other Info
The theme of this fuchi-kashira is a brown-eared bulbul perched on an oak branch with acorns. It is an intricate and solid work, but in its simplicity, it is almost like a Zen-like ink painting. The metal craftsman, Aritsune[有恒] was born in Kyoto as the son of Mitsunori[光則], and studied under his brother-in-law, Kazutsura[加寿貫]. He was active in late Edo Period and left behind works they include the Tenpo and Koka era dates. This fuchi-kashira has passed the Hozon Tosogu shinsa in 2003.
