The theme of this Fuchikashira is Puppies. Dogs were protected by law by issueed of the 5th Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, 1680-1709. At this time, dogs were scared animals. This Fuchikashira depicts cute puppies on the Shakudo Nanako surface with gold inlay. Inside you can see the "Suemon inlay technique" where the inlay is attached to the Fuchikashira. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Shinsa applied in May 2024 and it has been attributed to the Kyo-kinko Tradition. |
