| An unsigned tsuba depicting surging waves, probably the work of \r\na Ko-Kinko craftsman. The mokko-shaped shakudo ground is \r\nfinely carved on both sides with layers of overlapping waves. \r\nCrests rise here and there amid flowing lines, skillfully conveying \r\nthe movement of the sea. The interior of the large kozuka-hitsu-\r\nana is gold-plated, providing an elegant golden accent against the \r\ndark-toned shakudo ground. While representative of the typical \r\nworkmanship of Ko-Kinko hamidashi tsuba, it remains in good \r\ncondition and offers an appealing sense of antique elegance. |
