| The entire plate is composed of a finely executed radial openwork design of 64 petal-like elements, arranged with excellent symmetry and enclosed within a rounded rim. Two hitsuana are provided, and the rim is finished with slight rounding (koniku), giving it a well-balanced and refined profile.This tsuba can be regarded as a developed form of Saotome-style work. The iron shows a pleasing quality, and the piece is considered to be in the Myōchin tradition. |
