Other Info
This is an iron tsuba depicting bamboo, executed in sukidashi-bori.The bamboo is finely carved with a graceful and lively sense of movement, expressing vitality and natural elegance. Subtle gold inlay is applied at key points, adding effective accents of color without disturbing the overall harmony of the design. The composition conveys the image of bamboo enduring wind and snow while continuing to grow with flexibility and strength, a traditional symbol of resilience.Yoshitaka is thought to be Shunkōdō Yoshitaka, a metalworker active in the late Edo period. The workmanship reflects the quiet elegance and refined taste characteristic of Bushū tsuba. This piece passed the Hozon Tosogu shinsa in 2025.
