Other Info
Hashimoto Masanari was a metalsmith from Sekiyado in Shimōsa Province and an Edo-based artisan active in the mid-Edo period. This tsuba features a design of a horse beneath fully blossoming cherry trees. The iron plate has a subdued, refined tone, and the motifs are gently expressed through sukidashi-bori. The trunk and branches, together with the delicate cherry blossoms, create an atmosphere of elegance, while the horse, though understated, conveys a quiet but unmistakable presence.A tsuba that embodies both simplicity and refinement.
