| 'Bukan' was a practical yearbook-style record compiled during the Edo period, listing the names, kokudaka (land holdings), stipends, and family crests of daimyo and shogunate officials. Tsuba (especially Heian-jo zogan tsuba featuring vines brass-inlaid on the surface) that featured different crests openwork were called Bukkan-sukashi openwork tsuba and were popular. This tsuba depicts Two Comma shaped crest, paulownia crest, cherry blossom, katabami yellow sorrel flower, crane crest, and hugging myoga crest, bamboo and geese openwork. A refined tsuba. It is mumei, but attributed to the Bushu School and passed the Hozon Tosogu shinsa in August 2025. |
