| A unique tsuba, Large Two-wheeled Cart Openwork, Clouds and Scattered Characters design, featuring mokko-shaped copper ishimeji surface with high uchikaeshi-mimi rim. Though the maker, Tadatsune, is unknown, the imposing inscription “Dewa Province, Mogami, Yamagata-ju Tadatsune [出羽国最上 山形住忠恒]” resembles the inscription “Dewa Province, Akita-ju, Shōami Denbei [出羽国秋田住 正阿弥伝兵衛]” from the Akita Shōami school. It passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu shinsa in 2024. |
