| Cherry blossoms are arranged on a waxed silver-polished (rōgin migaki-ji) sukidashi tsuba. The blossoms are varied in design, and the inlay extends onto the rim, showing a carefully considered and refined composition. The artist, signed Masakatsu, cannot be identified with certainty as there are multiple craftsmen using this name; however, based on the style, it is thought to be the work of a Mito metalworker. This piece passed the Hozon Tosogu shinsa in November 2025. |
