| Paulownia and chrysanthemum are emblems of high status in Japan. This tsuba features a paulownia flower carved into the hiraji/flat surface, with chrysanthemum flowers shaped along the rim. A bold and superbly designed tsuba, crafted from brass with a unique patina reminiscent of the work of the Akita Shōami school. |
