The theme of this Tsuba is Japanese Plum Tree and Paulownia. The Japanese plum tree is a symbol of enduring the cold because it blooms in the early spring. The plum flower has a dignified appearance. Paulownia is a symbol of prestige used in family crests, like the chrysanthemum. Sukashi-bori technique was used to craft this beautiful design. It is Mumei but has been attributed to the Akasaka Tradition by the Tokubetsu Kicho Kodogu certificate. |
