| The Umetada Tradition was a prestigious tradition. It was founded from the Momoyama Period until the late Edo Period. This Tradition lived in Nishijin, Kyoto in Yamashiro Province. This tradition spread to other areas such as Edo, Nagato, Hizen, and Harima where it continued to flourish. Umetada Myoju was said to be a Maejin (Master) of this tradition. Gold, silver, and copper was used on this Tsuba to depict butterflies. A creative and beautiful design. It is in a good condition. It has a Hakogaki written by Torigoe Kazutaro/Sodo Sensei in 1954 on the Custom-made Paulownia box. |
