| This Swordsmith Ozawa Shigenori [小澤茂範] was born in 1967 and lives in Ashigarakami-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture. He is a disciple of Takano Yukimitsu [高野行光], a disciple of Ono Yoshimitsu [大野義光], and was licensed to make swords in 2005. He has received lots of awards for exhibitions at the Modern Sword Exhibition by the NBTHK, and is an up-and-coming swordsmith currently experimenting with traditional techniques such as so called 'hadaka-yaki' without tsuchioki. This tanto, by swordsmith Ozawa Shigenori, 42 years old, is a magnificent and ambitious work in which the ayasugi-hada is meticulously tempered. |
