| This kogatana is a newly made blade by swordsmith Ozawa Shigenori of Ashigarayama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Ozawa Shigenori was born in 1967 and studied under Takano Yukimitsu, a disciple of Ōno Yoshimitsu. He received his official swordsmith license in 2005 and is currently 59 years old. This is an ambitious work forged in the hadaka-yaki style. The hamon is executed in nioi-deki with a hitatsura-like pattern, displaying rich variation and dynamic activity. This kogatana was specially commissioned by our company directly from Ozawa Shigenori. The blade has been professionally polished, and a new silver habaki and shirasaya were specially made for it. A highly attractive kogatana with excellent artistic appeal. |
