| This contemporary swordsmith, Yamaguchi Kiyofusa, is one of the \r\nMukansa certified swordsmiths. He was born in 1932 in Morioka, \r\nIwate Prefecture. In 1964, he became a disciple of Sumitani \r\nMasamine, a living national treasure. From the 1970s he started to \r\nsubmit his work to contests; \"Shinsaku Meitoten.\" He received high-\r\nranking awards many times and became a Mukansa in 1986. He is \r\nnow 94 years old but still remains enthusiastic for forging. It is a \r\nstunning beautiful Kogatana. |
