"Botefuri" is a street merchant who carried wares hanging from a pole, selling them in the street. This style of selling goods started from the end of Heian Period and became popular during the Muromachi Period. This pair of Menuki was crafted from Shakudo. The plate is very thin and black in color. It is attributed to the Ko-Goto Tradition made in the Muromachi Era. |
