The design of this Kozuka is Walnuts. It is Mumei but has been attributed to the Ko-goto Tradition. This Tradition means it was crafted by an unidentified Goto Soke craftsman from the first generation to the fifth generation, during the late Muromachi to the Momoyama Period. The Nanako pattern on this Kozuka has been worn down in its long history to where it is not easy to see. This Kozuka gives a noble and elegant impression. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu shinsa in 2021. |
