This craftsman, Izumi Hidetoshi, was a disciple of Omori Hidetomo who studied under Omori Teruhide and was allowed to use the Omori in his Mei. Izumi Hidetoshi was active during the late Edo Period in Edo. This Kougai was crafted from high quality Shakudo and the theme of the Kikkou Tachi Kajinoha Family Crest is very rare. It must have been specially ordered by a high class Samurai of this Family. |
