The theme of this Kougai is Mizuhiki, decorative Japanese cord made from twisted paper. It was to prevent the envelope from wrinkling, and to show respect for the receiver's feelings and for ritual events as well as empathy to share joy and sadness. The craftsman, Miyake Hidemasa, was related to the Miyake Hidemistsu who was a disciple of Yokoya Soyo, second generation. It is an attractive Kougai and has passed the Hozon Tosogu in March 2020. |
