| This wakizashi koshirae features a black lacquered saya decorated with concentric circular patterns in brown lacquer brushstrokes, paired with a black lacquered tsuka finished in byakudan-nuri. The copper fittings feature inome-sukashi. The kozuka has a sayagata pattern on a copper ground, while the iron tsuba features a rising-wave and sailing-boat design in sukashi, reminiscent of the Yagyu school. The brown lacquer brushstroke and concentric-circle patterns of the saya, the black byakudan-nuri tsuka, and the iron tsuba with its rising-wave and sailing-boat design combine to give the koshirae a tasteful variety and understated elegance. It passed the Hozon Tosogu shinsa in 2025. |
