Other Info
This swordsmith was a disciple of the first generation Echigo No Kami Kanesada. He was adopted into the family and became the second generation of the lineage. The first generation of Kanesada also had a biological son, who in 1679, took over the name as his adopted brother took the name Sakakura Gonnoshin Terukane. Kanesada, 2nd generation is one of the most famous smiths of the Osaka Shinto tradition, ranked Jojosaku. It is sometimes said that his blades resemble the Toranba by Sukehiro. This sword is 2shyaku 4sun 6bu (74.9cm) length in good condition, and has many of the trademark features of this sword smith. The inscription dating from the 9th year of Kanbun(1669) is valuable. It comes with a superior uchigatana sytle koshirae with a black lacquer isokusa-nuri saya. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token in 2024.
