A dignified warrior with a long beard and a scholar-like figure are depicted on the kashira, while a fan is shown on the fuchi. The design is likely a scene of Guan Yu and Zhuge Kongming from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Based on the workmanship, it is likely to be attributed to the Mito school at shinsa.
