Other Info
The young pine trees, decorated with branches pointing upward during New Year's, symbolizes longevity as it retains its green foliage even in winter. Its gracefully extending branches also embody the meaning of growth, making it an auspicious object representing wishes for eternal youth and longevity. The metalworker, Jochu [如笻], was a disciple of Murakami Jotaku [村上如竹]. The inscription is inscrived in a difficult-to-read cursive script. This fuchi-kashira features a young pine trees amidst mist, exquisitely and elaborately depicted in gold inlay on a shakudo-looks, shibuichi polished ground. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu shinda in 2024.
