Other Info
In Japan, the lily is synonymous with beauty. Its beautiful flowers are often used as a subject for sw0rd fittings. There are many types of lilies, such as mountain lilies and demon lilies, but this work is a gun lily. The pure white flowers are slender and tubular, resembling trumpets with six petals, and bloom sideways. This fuchi-kashira conveys a delicate and supple beauty. There are no joints between the ceiling and side board of the rim, and without chikara-gane suggests that it is a three-dimensional carving. The artisan, Munekiyo is not identified, but it is very interesting item. It has passed the Hozon shinsa in 2024.
