The theme of this Futatokoro, consisting of Kozuka and Kogai, is Gagaku, Ancient Japanese Court Dance and Music. The Kozuka depicts Costume worn in Gagaku for the theme of "Karyobinga"" that has a human face and bird wings. The Kogai depicts a Sho, a traditional Japanese wind instrument resembling panpipes. The craftsman, Shojishi Hogen Masayuki, was a craftsman of the Nomura Tradition. This Tradition derived from the Goto Tradition and was active during the Edo Period in Awa Province. It served as official workers of the Hachisuka family. It was also referred to as the Awa-Goto Tradition. Very high quality and elegant craftsmanship.
